Massachusetts ~~ Defending our Liberties

We are finding that our absolute worst days are when we have to collaborate on maps and directions while trying to find the right location—could it be that we still have a lot to learn about trusting one another??  Ha!
After wandering through Lexington on Sunday evening to try to find a place to park overnite (the Westin Aloft Hotel approved us!), we headed to the Alewife station on Monday in commuter traffic to catch the subway (whew); then, we really did enjoy the Freedom Trail.  We hoofed the full 3 miles, then determined for the sake of our aching feet, we would catch the 10 minute ferry back to our starting point near Boston Commons.
Lunch at 1780 Historic Warren Tavern --original beams & floors

The Old State House, location of Boston Massacre in 1770,
the historic old in the middle of all the new.

USS Constitution aka Old Ironsides,
restoration almost completed.
I am both grateful and amazed at the courageous patriots who determined to break away from the bondage of Britain – and it makes me wonder if we will ever be called to stand up so bravely against whatever may be the ills of our country?  And…most importantly, will I clearly hear that call and respond as passionately?
I am captivated by the houses in these New England states!
Short ferry ride in Boston--to rest our tootsies!
